I think it was established that Protego deflected bullets, but on the other hand, Harry has no Spidey-sense. Voldemort really ought to have hired a sniper squad.
That is very true, now that I think about it. Maybe it’s because magic is just as fast and easy to use for most, and is probably more lethal, due to probably having a spell that would allow one to bend the barrel of the gun, make it fly out of the owner’s hands, etc. Face it, magic is actually more superior in most cases.
At least in Harry Potter, Rowling’s excuse was that magic interferes with technology. Seems like a lame excuse to not have to mix worlds, but whatever.
“Sure, magic could interefere with computers, but what about simple mechanical things? Eg scuba tanks, foot-driven lathe, gun, ect?” I thought. The answer: “J.K. Rowling likes only magical things, and they’re in England, so, no guns.”
Witch Hunter Robin. One of the main characters Omen had magic but never once used it the entire series. Always used his gas gun with magic nullifying bullets. Infact the entire field team used the guns. Except Robin who relied on her pyro kinesis.
Well, Dresden has a problem with advanced tech, but I seem to recall Murphy always having a gun when she was working with him. Of course, Murphy was with the Chicago PD.
And in Ralph Bakshi’s /Wizards/, the (spoilers for a several decade old movie delete) at the end.
Actually, I loved that ending…I was also under suffering under the old, tired cliche that magic & tech can’t be used together. This is even after several years of reading about Marvel’s Dr. Doom, who did just that for most of his life.
Even so, the ending of Wizards still caught me by surprise & I thought it quite ironic that Avatar used the very same technology against Blackwolf that Blackwolf had provided for his own troops. Poetic Justice, I thought.
Dresden himself uses a gun. It’s advanced tech that gave him issues. Cell phones, computers and whatnot. He just doesn’t use it as often because his spells are just more powerful and because he can go most places in the human world with his staff and walk right through security with it.
Also, in CO’s Vibora Bay, there is a wizard who uses a handgun. But that’s in a superheroic universe, so that makes it an exception to general rules anyway ^_^
Actually Mister Dresden uses, and owns, a Gun. As well as protects against them as well. He just happens to use a Revolver because he thinks any automatic will jam if he uses it.
um…did the main characters just die? And I must admit, this sounds like a TERRIBLE knockoff of Harry Potter. And I still think the spell names are terrible.
I’m extremely glad I read through loser-minions and space-murderers before I checked this out, or I wouldn’t have gone past page 1. +1 for you, comic-god.
Ooh, watching little children getting knocked off is very creepy and kinda funny–especially after that silly speech she gave about having heads full of dreams. Dope.
Couldn’t post on the first couple of pages, but I remember now that the kid kinda reminds me of

Graham, the new Chosen One.
I suddenly find myself with a great deal of respect for cliche dark wizards.
The ghost of Voldemort is kicking himself right about now.
DAMMIT!!
Why didn’t I just think of shooting the little Punk!
I think it was established that Protego deflected bullets, but on the other hand, Harry has no Spidey-sense. Voldemort really ought to have hired a sniper squad.
Ooooh! I do so LUV that answer!!!
I think I’m gonna’ really like this comic…..
It always bugged me that nobody ever seems to use guns in any modern magic related stories

But only IF you’re fast enough….
At least in Harry Potter, Rowling’s excuse was that magic interferes with technology. Seems like a lame excuse to not have to mix worlds, but whatever.
They’re called snipers

Plus magic-using villains are usually too arrogant to use non-magic weapons.

read dresden files, badass realist. Why sunder someone with the fires of creation when you can just pull a trigger?
harry dresden has in fact shot faces off before,

And in Ralph Bakshi’s /Wizards/, the (spoilers for a several decade old movie delete) at the end.
And, as we know, ALL Chicago Cops are quick with the gun!
[Just Kidding, so nobody shoot me.....
Or sue me]
Actually, I was kinda’ disappointed with that ending in “Wizards”, at the time

Because the more advanced the technology, the more likely Magic will screw it up…..
Call it the Luddlite Principle of Magic
Well, Crap!
Apparently you CAN’T post a Link like that, here….

I don’t think that THEY are the Main Characters, actually–
Otherwise it’s gonna’ be an extremely short strip…..
I’m extremely glad I read through loser-minions and space-murderers before I checked this out, or I wouldn’t have gone past page 1. +1 for you, comic-god.
YES!
Anyone else wondering what he wants the bodies for? Arcane magic? Creepy voodoo? Lunch?
Necrophlia?
[Look it up in Wikipedia--I DARE-ya'!]
PEDOnecrophilia. They are eight-year-olds, after all.
Scary.
Interesting, if disturbing read.
Looove <3
Haha. Not what I expected. I laughed so hard at this chapter.
This Comic is awesome!!!!
And with page three, all my fears are assuaged, and I love another minion comic.
Ooh, watching little children getting knocked off is very creepy and kinda funny–especially after that silly speech she gave about having heads full of dreams. Dope.
Apparently her head wasn’t full of dreams, it was full of blood
!
I feel like a terrible person for laughing at this page.
Can I call him
Voldemort
Moldymort?
meh, meh, GODDAMN THIS IS EPIC!
Seriously for the first parts I was like: Urgh Harry Potter knock off, then I came across this one. I think I’m gonna like it.
Oh, I get it! It’s a Harry Potter parody?
Voldy must be rolling over in his fictional grave just about now, thinking “why didn’t use a gun?!!!!”
Oh those poor kids, we hardly knew ye…
Is it unusual that the main thing that bothers me about this comic is the psuedo/poorly used latin?
Yes. They’re only using it to mock … other works.
Mentioning other works – the Amber Chronicles and Beetlejuice used the “line on a wall” “instant door” trick as well.
It takes 1.5 seconds to fire off “Avarda Kedavra.”
It takes 0.5 seconds to pull a trigger.
Or…
Hand grenade: By the time Voldemort figures out what it is, you’ll have already saved Hogwarts.
Which font did you use for the shooting effect?
Looks amaizing.
